    I have a large pecan tree and boy this this sure beats popping those pecans with a hand cracker or using a hammer and picking. I plan to buy one as a gift. The wooden handle has a crack in it :(

    I quickly crack shells of 40-50 nuts and then peel away the shells with a very small pocket knife. I find I get halves from about 3/4 of the nuts. It probably ...Read complete review

    I quickly crack shells of 40-50 nuts and then peel away the shells with a very small pocket knife. I find I get halves from about 3/4 of the nuts. It probably takes about 1 hour to crack and clean 200 pecans. If nuts are of a consistent size, the cracker can be adjusted for greater precision to avoid any crushing of meats. It's too time consuming to make that adjustment for each size nut. Overall, I am reasonably satisfied with this product.

    Well made, durable construction, will last at least one life time, if not more. Comes assembled right out of the box. Adjustable head sizes comes in handy. I have bought at least a dozen in the last 3 years to give out as gifts to family, not one complaint yet. Now I'm not saying that it doesn't look attractive or it comes off as looking cheap but, I'm not a fan of oak. However, it will add to the life expectancy of this product. Really, don't waste your time reading this, but one, you will not be disappointed.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
